It is with the utmost pride, pleasure, and enthusiasm that I endorse Christine Mauer for the Leander ISD School Board. Having taught all three of her children, I grew to know her quite well over the five years that I spent as a band director at Henry Middle School. Leander ISD has an amazing community of wonderful parents, and Christine is no exception. She goes above and beyond not only for her own kids, but for others’ as well. When one of our students was dealing with a devastating loss, Christine was there as an absolute rock of support. Whenever we would need something, Christine would organize and show up with many of those somethings. Through her involvement in not just band but also in Math Pentathlon and other programs, Christine has the breadth of knowledge and experience, especially at the student level, to make truly informed and smart decisions that will positively impact student outcomes.

The bottom line is that Christine cares for all the right reasons. She puts the kids FIRST, where they belong, in all of the tough decisions a school board must make. I have seen, first hand, living example after living example of her compassion for ALL kids, her selfless dedication to service, and her ability to make teachers feel supported as well. Her dedication and strong will are attributes which will bring positive outcomes for our kids and for our district. She has the vision to keep moving us forward and to keep Leander ISD’s status as a destination district, one which attracts top teaching talent in core subjects, athletics, fine arts, and all of the other wonderful programs for which Leander ISD is known, intact and unrivaled.

As an LISD community, we are being challenged like never before, emotionally, mentally, physically, and financially. It is essential all of us are focused on what truly matters for LISD’s future success. This starts by choosing leaders with integrity, experience, and wisdom. Leaders that are creative, innovative, and have faced adversity. Leaders who seek to serve the greater good and welcome feedback and scrutiny, from all stakeholders.

I’ve known Christine to be a thoughtful, positive, and results-driven leader in our community. I am thrilled to see the excitement and passion that Christine will bring to this role. She has already shown her commitment, with many hours of dedicated service to our teachers, students and families. I know she will listen and work diligently to bring our District forward and preserve our academic strength and achievement. It’s past time for us to choose Trustees who recognize all the diversity of LISD and ensure solutions match the needs of everyone.

It is with a sense of great pride and honor that I endorse Christine Mauer for the Leander ISD School Board, Place 3. I am a third-generation educator. In my life, I have never met a community member more dedicated to the health of the school system and community than Christine Mauer. She exemplifies a supportive community member who actively works towards the betterment of her children and the team of educators who surround them. Christine understands that for the education system to work at its most effective, it takes a strong partnership between students, parents, educators, and administrators. In trying to strengthen that partnership, she has worked tirelessly to build a deep and intimate understanding of each of the roles it takes to educate a child. She has worked as an instructional assistant for Reagan Elementary, she has served as a coach, she volunteers as an officer for the Vista Ridge Band Booster, she is an active PTA member, a substitute teacher, and more!

Christine works to understand the big picture, to best serve the community, and most importantly, serve every single student that attends an LISD school. Christine loves indiscriminately and without prejudice. She is the model human for ensuring my children and all those who go to school in Leander ISD have an equitable, fair, and inclusive education. In my 12 years of teaching and 35 years of being surrounded by student-centered educators, I have never met someone more qualified and passionate to serve on a school board.

I am endorsing my support for Christine Mauer for the Leander ISD School Board in the upcoming election. My experience with Christine is seen through her actions as a community member, Leander ISD band parent, and Executive Board Member of a Leander ISD Booster Program. Through her community service, I have seen her be a constant supporter of Leander ISD teachers, students, administration, and our schools, always doing whatever she can do to support her children and the district that supports them.

I believe that she has an extremely positive mindset on what is possible in our community through investing in our future’s greatest commodity, our children’s education. Christine Mauer will be getting my vote in the 2020 election for the Leander ISD School Board, Place 3.
— Jason Robb, Director of Bands, Ret. (2016-2020) Rouse High School
I’ve lived in Cedar Park for 18 years and have had kids in LISD for 16 years. I’ve met teachers and staff who have gone out of their way to help support their students, their schools and their communities. Christine Mauer exemplifies this level of caring and concern. She’s focused, energetic and works hard to problem solve in a compassionate, inclusive way. She’s full of great ideas and is so supportive of all students, teachers, staff and other parents. She’s a prominent voice of reason in our district and I’ve often heard her say “ Let’s do this!” when talk is over and action is needed. She steps up and steps in and sees it through. Math Pentathlon, band, helping start a rocket club- you name it and she’s there, volunteering her time and energy to actually get things done. She’s consistent, reliable and trustworthy- the kind of person who will be an asset in our school board. I’m proud to support her and hope you will too! Our kids deserve it!

Mrs. Mauer has been in my life for over 7 years. I met her while being a part of math pentathlon and through these years she has become a 2nd Mom to me, as she has for most the band kids. She leads by example and treats everyone fairly. Motivating us to always do our best on AND off the marching pad, Mrs. Mauer is always ready to give encouraging words when we need them. One of our biggest cheerleaders and someone we know we can go to if we need ANYTHING. Reliable, dependable, cheerful, helpful and someone we can all look up to. Isn’t that what everyone should want in a school board member? My vote is for Christine Mauer, even though I’m 15.
— Rachel Livitz, Vista Ridge High School Sophomore, Proud member of the Ranger Marching Band
Christine Mauer is quite simply one of the best people I know. Anybody who has spent any time around her knows her to be smart, insightful, passionate and hard-working. And there is no place she directs that energy with more focus than when working for our children and their education. She is a leader who sets the best example for others and who inspires others to match her dedication. I can think of no better place to apply all of that talent than the Leander ISD School Board and I can think of no better candidate to join the Board.

I endorse Christine Mauer for Place 3 of the Leander ISD School Board because she will lead with integrity, champion for the good of all students and teachers, and help Leander Independent School District continue to be one of the best in the state of Texas. I am so excited to hear Christine Mauer is running for School Board! I’ve known Christine for years, having volunteered with her many times. The first things that drew me to her were how genuine, welcoming, energetic, and hard-working she is. Christine gets kids. She sees them, respects them, and meets each of them where they are with kindness and compassion. From Band Boosters to Math Pentathlon to school carnivals and now to School Board, Christine has a servant’s heart and a passion for creating an enriching experience for everyone around her.

Christine makes students and teachers her priority, ensuring they have the tools and support for expanding opportunities. Her heart is in educating and uplifting, creating an inclusive environment in which every student, parent, and volunteer feels better having worked with her. Christine is patient, logical, strong, ridiculously smart, and one of the kindest human beings I know. I cannot imagine a more qualified candidate, and her passion and positive energy will be a huge asset to the LISD Board.
